History of Alpaca

Back 5,000 years ago, were the Incas the first ones who domesticated the alpacas, animals originating from the Andes mountain range. Since then, the breeding of this beautiful and noble animal lasts through time. Nowadays, many people and families that after many generations continue to maintain intact the roots and the know-how of how to obtain one of the best and most appreciated natural fibers of the world, thus doing honor to a past full of history and legend .

The alpaca is a smart and tender camelid that is mainly feed in high mountains, although it is able to adapt to many environments and climates.

It is a species that allows the sustainability of the environment and the land thanks to the fact that they do not damage the grasses with their legs – something that does not happen with other animals – since they cut them without starting them and produces a type of fertilizer with low content in nitrates and phosphates, ideal for the field.

Both in Spain and in other countries, the breeding and care of this animal is spreading. Together we contribute to the care of this camelid, to its development as a noble and pure animal, and to divulge the excellent properties that its fiber offers to people, to fashion and to the whole world.
